La Barra is the requisite tapas restaurant in Mercado Little Spain, the Spanish market and food hall in Hudson Yards. It's in the middle of the market and easy to spot with red Spanish tiles, colorful flags, and pitchers of sangria on every table. In addition to the usual suspects like patatas bravas and croquetas, the menu has regional specialties like Sevillan mollete de pringá made with crusty buns, and fluffy Mallorcan ensaimada, a pastry filled with spicy chorizo spread. There’s usually a wait, but once you get a table, feel free to spend an extended Happy Hour here and then pick up a bottle to take home from the wine shop next door.
