Class On 38th
This upscale Japanese spot is officially the most exciting option in the Garment District for drinks and zhuzhed-up izakaya food, in case you work in the area or spend your time purchasing fabric by the yard. The narrow, tiled restaurant is from the same people as Antidote (Sichuan in Williamsburg) and Nemesis (Thai in Flatiron), and serves takes on izakaya classics. Come for a vent session with coworkers over buttery salmon rice bowls with ikura or monkfish karaage fried as lightly as a fresh doughnut. Head's up, Class On 38th doesn't have a full liquor license so drinks are limited to beer, wine, and some refreshing shōchū and sake cocktails.
