It’s getting warmer out, so statistically speaking there’s a high chance you’ve dreamed of attending a barbecue. And while smoking meat on your fire escape is an option, that would require skill, bravery, and a vessel with more capabilities than your roommate’s George Foreman. That’s why we put together this list of great barbecue spots across the city that are offering baby back ribs, pulled pork, and crunchy fried green tomatoes for delivery and pick up right now.

Hometown has the best barbecue in NYC. And right now, you won’t have to wait an hour in line to get it. The Red Hook location is open for takeout and delivery within the Columbia Waterfront, Carroll Gardens, and Gowanus areas. Get the brisket, a giant beef rib, and two lamb belly banh mis. Eat one of the banh mis, and put the other on a pedestal in your home so that you can have something in the background for your Zoom guests to admire.

The Holy Trinity may or may not mean something to you. But at Morgan’s, this sacred phrase refers to brisket, pork ribs, and smoked sausage - three legends we can all believe in. And since this Prospect Heights spot makes some great Texas-style barbecue, you should make it your mission to try them all. When you’re ready to order, call 718-622-2224 for takeout or place a delivery order online.

This spot is Permanently Closed.

Holy Ground is probably the only BBQ spot on this list where you can get a dirty martini delivered right along with your slow-smoked meats. And just because you can’t enjoy the red leather booths in this trendy, underground, Tribeca spot doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy their smoked chicken and racks of spare ribs right now. So declare your average Saturday night a special occasion, place your order online, and don’t forget the mac and cheese with mornay sauce.

Queens Bully is useful for almost any situation. This Forest Hills spot serves some very good smoked chicken and baby back ribs, as well as six types of wings. But even if you just want a brisket sandwich for lunch or a chicken and waffle brunch this weekend, they’ve got you covered. You can place your order using their website between 1pm and 9pm daily.

Like many of the places on this list, The Barbecue Pit has chicken and rib combos, pulled pork sandwiches, and chili cheese dogs on its menu. We just thought you should know that this Bronx spot is also a great option for vegetarians - they’ve got everything from biryani and veggie burgers to eggplant sandwiches and quesadillas.

Baked beans are an often overlooked BBQ staple. But the burnt end baked beans from Mighty Quinn’s taste like their sole mission in life is to change that. We recommend ordering them with a full slab of ribs, some sweet potato casserole, and lots of extra BBQ sauce. Plus, the East Village, West Village, UES, and New Jersey locations are also offering refrigerated meats for takeout and delivery that you can freeze for later.

Concord Hill in Williamsburg is offering barbecue kits with beef patties, andouille sausages, and sides like truffle potato salad for pick up and delivery. They’ve even got six packs of beer and bottles of rose that you can add to your order in the event that your bar stash is running low (as it usually does toward the end of every week). Kit orders start at $45 and must be placed by calling the restaurant directly at 347-463-9322.

Right now, this Williamsburg spot is only open every day from 1-8pm. And since their menu changes daily, you’ll have to stalk their Instagram to see what’s available on their chalkboard menu. Fortunately, they pretty much always have brisket and pork ribs. If possible, order both and ask for a lean cut of brisket, which crumbles as you cut into it.

Close your eyes imagine a rectangular food tray overflowing with a slab of saucy ribs, potato salad, candied yams, and collard greens. Now open your eyes and head to Mable’s website to order that exact platter from this Williamsburg spot. You can also get Texas snack foods like chili and cheese on top of Frito’s served in the bag, if you’re into that kind of thing. It’s all available for takeout and delivery daily from noon till 10pm.

Check out the combination platters from Dinosaur BBQ if you’re trying to feed your entire apartment for under $100. They offer things like a full rack or ribs and four sides for $36 or a whole chicken, ribs, and a pound of brisket with sides like their Creole deviled eggs for $80. The NYC locations of Dinosaur BBQ in Harlem and Gowanus are open for delivery right now, as are their New York state and New Jersey locations. And just in case you’re looking for grilling tips or side recipes, check out their Instagram - they’re sharing BBQ tips every day during the month of May. (add all of the locations)

If you’re looking for a BBQ care package that’ll last you a few days, Hill Country is a great option to know about. Their BBQ boxes usually have things like smoked hot dogs, pork ribs, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, and apple pie inside - about 4-6 servings for $145. Plus, they deliver throughout all of NYC, Long Island, The Hamptons, and Westchester County. Check their Instagram for updates on what’s available right now.
