If you want a New York-style pastrami sandwich, your options in Seattle are few and far between, but we do have Dingfelder’s. Even though the meat is sliced way too thick for the soft seeded rye to handle and the sandwiches cost literally $23, the flavor’s pretty much there. If you’ve ever watched, When Harry Met Sally and wanted to “have what she’s having” in that scene from Katz’s, honestly, just hop a plane to JFK and go to Katz’s. But Dingfelder’s is a decent standby—and for what it's worth, we love their latkes.
