You’ve got a sudden and all-consuming urge for a margarita. But all you have is a dry lime and a crusty tequila shooter from your 21st birthday you’ve been saving as a memento. While you may not have all the ingredients to make the margarita of your dreams, you still have tequila-laced hope. This casual Mexican spot in Cow Hollow is offering spicy and strawberry margaritas. They’re $5 (one pint) and are available for pick-up and delivery.
If you’re going to drink, you might as well make sure you’re drinking something great, and the spicy margarita at Burma Superstar definitely qualifies. Their cocktail kit ($12) comes with a single-serving of tequila, fresh ginger, and lime. Call 415-387-214 to order.
Elda makes some of the best cocktails in the Mission, and right now you can order their margaritas and palomas (with either mezcal or tequila) for two ($24) or four ($48). They’re offering other agave-based cocktails with fresh-pressed citrus for pick-up, including their Oaxacan Old Fashioned with mezcal, tequila, orange, and chocolate bitters.
This Mission bar has gone delivery-only, with an extensive drink menu of beer, wine, and cocktails, like mezcal and tequila cocktail kits that serve 20. Be sure to read their delivery instructions - they’re pretty detailed.
Our Magic 8 Ball indicates that you need a pick-me-up, so hit up Hawker Fare. The Lao restaurant in the Mission has colorful stirred, shaken, and frozen cocktails, including a single-serving margarita for $10. They’re made-to-order and available for pick-up.
You can now order Lolo’s strong mezcal and tequila margaritas for pick-up. If you’ve been on an agave spirits kick lately, also try their palomas and mezcal negroni.
If you’re in Russian Hill and looking for a well-deserved afternoon cocktail before your next binge-watching session, order from Mezcalito They have mezcal and tequila margaritas in three different sizes for pick-up, available 4-8pm. The largest size serves about four.
Nopalito in the Inner Sunset is currently closed, but you can still order their excellent margaritas out of their Lower Haight location for pick-up or delivery. They come pre-made and serve two ($16) or four ($32). And if you’re looking to branch out from margaritas, their spicy Sweet Heat cocktail with pineapple juice, habanero, and lemon.
The Nob Hill bar has a new online shop offering pre-batched margaritas in 8- and 32-ounce sizes . (We’re in quarantine - you’re probably getting the bigger one.) They also have other tequila and mezcal cocktails that are worth a look, like the Oaxacan, with mole bitters and the Burro Rojo, with blood orange and ginger.
Tacolicious has always been our go-to taco and booze spot before an evening of bar-hopping in the Marina. The bar-hopping isn’t happening right now, but we can still depend on them for tacos and liquor. You can place an order for pre-made regular and passion fruit margaritas, in servings of three or five.

We usually head to Squat and Gobble when we need a breakfast or brunch spot - or a mimosa - in a pinch. But right now, we’re going to the Marina restaurant for their $5 margaritas, which are available for pick-up and delivery.

This Uptown Oakland Spanish restaurant is offering paloma pitchers that serve two to four. (We know - palomas aren’t margaritas, but we’re highlighting it here because, agave.) If the only thing you need to power you through that 1,000-piece taco-space-cat puzzle is a margarita, Itani Ramen has you covered. This casual ramen shop in Uptown Oakland has a takeout cocktail menu, which includes a $10 ume margarita made with tequila, ume plum syrup, and lime.
We may not be able to sip on Lake Chalet’s mango margarita from their lakeside patio, but it tastes just as refreshing from your front steps. Almost. This Piedmont Avenue restaurant has a daily-changing to-go menu that includes creative cocktails like a black walnut chai Old Fashioned. But you’re here for the hibiscus margarita with mezcal, cointreau, and lime. Each order serves two.
You may not be able to drink on the rainbow-colored patio at Nido’s Backyard, but you can still order their cocktails and pretend like you’re there. This outdoor Jack London spot is currently offering large-format margaritas and other refreshing, large-format tequila and mezcal cocktails that serve six.
