Like taking a walk on a sunny 53-degree morning, or finishing your book instead of going out on a Thursday, afternoon tea at Sarisa Cafe is one of the more pleasant life choices you can make. This Thai dessert cafe in Midtown East has an a la carte menu during the week, but we’d recommend going for the afternoon tea set, available Friday-Sunday. It’s $70 for two people, and you’ll get a three-tiered tower full of chewy, coconutty, palm sugar-forward desserts. You’ll also get a pot of herbal tea that never seems to lose its punch, no matter how diligently your server keeps refills it with hot water. Try to sit on the lounge chairs by the large front windows—on a nice day, the second-floor room is bathed in sunlight.
