Porta is a pizza place in Jersey City with picnic-style seating and lots of families and groups. It’s also a good place to hang out if you’re waiting for a table at Razza (which is very close by). In that case, there’s a long bar area where you can drink a cocktail or a glass of wine.

It’s hard to divorce Razza from all of the “best pizza” buzz. But if you do, you'll appreciate the subtleties that make this Jersey City spot great.
A smaller, very casual Lower East Side outpost of Brooklyn’s Speedy Romeo. They may be known for pizza, but that’s not the best thing here.
Head to Hamilton Inn in Hamilton Park for brunch when the weather's nice. Order the cornbread french toast.
