Okiboru House Of Udon
Included In
The line outside of Okiboru House of Udon might make a passerby say, "Look at all these suckers.” While the anti-line stance is often reasonable, it's wrong in the case of this East Village udon shop. Okiboru comes from the people behind Okiboru House Of Tsukemen, one of our favorite ramen spots in the city. Here, they serve chewy noodles with juicy tempura. Choose between three types of udon: narrow, matcha noodles over ice with a cold dipping broth, a hot soup with double-wide Himokawa udon, and the room-temperature dipping version of those jumbo ribbons. Come by yourself (the wait won't be as long) and order the latter version with tempura. When you dip the noodles, they'll look like a school of fish swimming in a dark pool.
