Choosing between the numerous Pakistani counter-service restaurants on Coney Island Ave. in Flatbush can give you major decision paralysis. Knowing each spot’s specialty helps. At Mashallah, it’s the lamb chops. The masala-spiced, charred meat falls off the bone, and goes well with a made-to-order naan that’s been given a proper shine with some garlic butter. There’s plenty of seating and colorful photographs add flair, but for the most part, this is a low-key spot where people sit around watching the big TVs, eating tandoori chicken lunch specials, and drinking perfect cups of masala chai. Top off your meal with the homemade mango kulfi.
