Jack & Nellie’s is a casual American restaurant right off the main stretch of Austin Street in Forest Hills, and it’s a good place to stop for brunch. The hash browns are so good that they could turn someone into a morning person, and it doesn't hurt that the brunch cocktails are all under $10. The space is big enough that you could easily come here with a group, and (just in case the hash brown magic doesn't work on your friends) this is also a nice place for drinks and snacks during Happy Hour, which runs from 4-8pm every day.

James is a great Prospect Heights restaurant with a somewhat predictable New American menu, but it’s Perfect For a date or a meal before a Nets game.
Acme has dropped its impressive Nordic menu in favor of a pretty standard Italian/American one. It's now much more about the scene than the food.
Houseman is a fantastic neighborhood restaurant in a neighborhood you probably don’t spend much time in.
Good Enough To Eat
The Upper West Side may not be flush with noteworthy dining out options, but they certainly have one meal on lockdown – brunch. Good Enough To Eat has been an institution up in these parts for a good 30 years, and a spot we'll happily go to for simple, heavy handed home cooking.
