HAAM
Included In
HAAM is short for “Healthy As A Motha,” but this isn’t a place you drag yourself to after making a New Year’s resolution (which you then abandon two weeks later). This Williamsburg restaurant serves Dominican and Trinidadian-inspired vegan food with enough flourish for a Friday night out. You’ll find tall stacks of crispy oyster mushroom “chicharrón” and mofongo, presented like a king’s feast, or creamy queso plantain boats wearing a crown of microgreens. And, crucially, a full bar.
HAAM is open all day, but after sunset, the tropical-themed space transforms into something nightlife-adjacent. The lights go low, the volume goes up, and people circulate around a big couch in the front, drinking guava cocktails before sitting down for jerk chicken onigiri and plantains. “Healthy” won’t even be on your mind until tomorrow morning.
