There are a lot of ’70s-themed bars out there, but this Bushwick spot takes the assignment a bit more seriously than the rest—and has the space to do so. The area is shaped like a huge carousel, and you can go from room to room in a circle before finding yourself back at the first of two bars. There are several wrap-around booths, and sunken living room-style spaces that take you back to a groovier time in American architecture. Absinthe is Carousel's retro spirit of choice—get it in a $15 cocktail if you want to feel a little wavy while you dance to James Brown. With a pool room and a dance floor, this place is an obvious choice for group hangs and birthdays, but you could easily get into the Copacabana spirit with a date too.
