Bibliotheque
Included In
Bibliotheque is a bookstore, bar, and cafe in Soho, ostensibly for people who like to read, or at least be in the vicinity of the written word. In the front, there is a hybrid coffee/booze bar where people hold court with laptops during the day. By evening, a scene forms inside the back lounge, where you’ll find couches and cocktail tables surrounded by tall, imposing shelves of shiny new novels, and self-help books. No one is reading them.
Soho’s best-dressed come here to drink wine and eat charcuterie under high ceilings and sparkling chandeliers, in a room that looks like the home library of someone with a roman numeral in their name. Yeah, it’s kind of annoying, but it’s also an undeniably gorgeous space to take a date for a drink. You can both buy that new Murakami and pretend you’re actually going to read it.
