Eva is located in CocoWalk, next to The Oyster Bar—both of which come from the Ariete team. The entire dining room feels like it was dipped in a bucket of alabaster paint—with a white bar, vanilla walls, and a low white ceiling. The menu is Mediterranean, albeit a bit difficult to navigate with both small and large portions divided into four sections: dips and breads, garden, fish, and meat. There are some misses on the menu—like the Eva salad that tastes like something we could’ve made at home, and a slightly dry lamb shank. But other dishes like the octopus bucatini and short rib kebab stand out for good reasons. There is one dish in particular that’ll make you clip your heels like a calf on the first day of spring: the foie and dates—a delicious tiny stack of sweet date pancakes covered in maple syrup topped with a fat piece of seared foie gras and toasted pine nuts. Have it for dinner, have it for dessert, just make sure you order it.
