Mei Wei Jin Hai is a family-run halal restaurant in Monterey Park that specializes in Chinese Islamic cuisine. It’s a relatively new spot compared to its long-standing neighbors, but the food here shouldn’t be underestimated. Whether it’s a giant platter of spicy JinHai chicken or lamb and chive dumplings that arrive to the table looking like thick, miniature pancakes, the food at this bright cafe is bold, flavorful, and different than anything else you can get in the neighborhood.
