Dining at Maiz 64 feels like dining in Mexico City, where every detail is a nod to Mexican modernism. The restaurant is great pick for impressing just about everyone—dates, out-of-towners, bosses and friends. Oakwood tables and blue-gray walls are complemented by delicate touches of warm corn gold and yellow, a cozy escape from the hustle and bustle of Logan Circle. Each table comes with a personal coat rack for your jackets, and a beautifully illustrated drinks menu. The food, much like the carefully planned interior, is a work of art. The restaurant's steamed sweet corn tamal is drenched in a rich, chunky charred tomatillo, goat cheese, and pecorino sauce. The charred octopus, served with a subtly bitter mole, is equally delicious.
