Turkey clubs and potato chips and cookies are foods that seem to have been designed for consumption outside on some kind of blanket, and there’s no better place to get all of these things together than Hitchcock. All the meats here are cured, smoked, or roasted in-house, the chips are in the form of mini Tim’s baggies, and the chocolate chip cookies are topped with cacao nibs and flaky salt. Perfect.
Sandwiches and hikes just seem to go together. Hitchcock, a deli that’s home to our favorite bacon turkey club in town, is where you want to get your lunch before heading off into the great unknown. Remember to get at least one homemade salted cacao nib cookie, too.
Every major city has a deli that people brag about. And ours is Hitchcock. All of the meats are smoked, cured, and roasted in-house. We’re especially in favor of the pastrami that goes into the reuben. Also, take into account that chips or salad come with every order here, so $13 becomes a steal. Use Hitchcock as an afternoon pitstop before doing some Georgetown and SoDo brewery-hopping, and make sure you take a salted cacao nib cookie along for the ride.
