Mt. Agni is a counter-service Nepali spot right off the UC Berkeley campus with supremely spicy food. Focus your attention on the Kathmandu street food section for chatpate that feels like eating spicy Pop Rocks in the best way possible, and get the paneer chili for a slightly sweet spice that’ll force you to refill your water cup at least three times. Most of the (limited) seating is in almost fully enclosed green booths, so no one will see as you create a puddle of sweat bigger than Lake Merritt. Unfortunately, the momos are the worst thing here—they’re served lukewarm and lack the spicy hit all of the other dishes provide.
