The banh mi GPS that’s affixed to my frontal lobe recently led me to this new spot in Berkeley, which has now earned a place at the top of my ever-growing, very official Best Banh Mi List. All of their rolls are made fresh in-house, and stuffed with a generous amount of carrots, daikon, green onions, cucumbers, cilantro, and tender, flavorful meat. I went with the lemongrass grilled pork, but you can choose from 14 different fillings, ranging from five-spice chicken to sardines with tomato sauce. The sandwiches are pretty massive, but don’t let that stop you from getting a side of crunchy spring rolls and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Can’t wait to see where my pursuit of the perfect banh mi leads me next, but for now, you can find me at Banh Mi & Rolls Factory at lunch time, probably weekly.
