You probably don’t go out of your way to hang out around Logan Square, but if you work near there or are forced to take your out-of-town friends to visit the LOVE sign, it’s worth taking a trip to Vernick Coffee Bar. It’s on the second floor of the Comcast Center, and it looks like one of those stands in the middle of the mall that tries to sell you body lotion from the Dead Sea. Except, instead of products that will sit on your shelf until you move and throw them away, Vernick Coffee Bar serves things like coffee and pastries, plus an all-day menu with things like a shaved porchetta sandwich and olive oil-poached salmon belly.
