Nonno Ugo's Italian Bakery
Included In
Mayfair people know Nonno Ugo's for their Italian cookie trays during the holidays or maybe pepperoni bread during lunch. The small space has plenty of Italian aprons on the walls, but no tables whatsoever. So prepare to take your breads, pastries, and crispy stromboli to go. We always get a slice of tomato pie, which is the size of a postcard. These things are equal parts tangy sauce and crust, making them wetter than most other tomato pies in the city. It only works because the bulky crust with a crispy bottom holds everything together. Get here early or call ahead—Nonno Ugo often sells out.
