Enswell
Whether you're here during the day for Rival Bros coffee, or you come at night for a cocktail made with Rival Bros coffee, Enswell always feels like a cafe. It also always feels very Rittenhouse, which is to say you’ll see gold fixtures, indoor Greek columns, and people wearing fancy outfits and sharing vacation pictures with friends. The drinks, like an old fashioned with brown butter-washed scotch, are consistently better than the food. So steer clear of the mains (which, during our multiple visits, have been either forgettable or prompted a mental scan of a spice rack to identify some missing elements) and stick to the snacks, like caesar toast or a plate of jamon. Think of Enswell as a useful option for drinks in the area, but nowhere you need to go out of your way to try.
