This Center City sushi shop has a lot of neon lights, and there are pretty much zero rules about what you can bring in, how much noise you can make, or how many times you request that they change the playlist. They don’t have the best rolls in the city, but their spicy tuna and crunchy scallop rolls are decent, and they have lots of easily shareable appetizers like gyoza and vegetable tempura.
Las Cazuelas is a Mexican BYOB in Northern Liberties where you should go bring a group to escape the nearby crowds.
Hikari is a BYOB sushi spot in Northern Liberties that has solid, classic rolls and a bunch of outdoor seating in the summer.
L’Angolo is an old school Italian BYOB in South Philly with private rooms and all the pastas you hoped they would have.
When you’re looking for reasonably priced sushi, but still want it to feel a little special, head to 1225 Raw in Center City.
