While in Kathmandu
Included In
While in Kathmandu is a Ridgewood restaurant with brick walls, stained glass lamps, and a Nepali menu that often veers in a fusion-y direction. Start with an order of jhol momos served in a thick broth, then get some saucy masala wings, a couple of charred goat skewers, or a khaja set laid out like a buffet, with puffed rice, grilled eggs, and chicken prepared a few different ways. This place is a neighborhood staple, and, since most things cost less than $25, it's perfect for when you don't want to spend a wild amount of money. Keep in mind that it's cash-only, and be sure to make use of the backyard in the summer.
