The Bowery Electric isn’t the newest (or coolest) bar, but it’s still a great place to see a show or dance with a group of friends. The space consists of an upstairs bar/lounge area and a basement venue where bands play shows. Dancing occurs in the basement (after the concerts), and the music down there is all over the place. You probably won’t find this place cute or charming, but if you want to drink away your depth perception while you enjoy some music that most other bars in the area won’t be playing, it’s a good place to hang out.

Balthazar, you had a good 16-year run, but it’s time to step aside. Lafayette is now the quintessential French bistro of bustling downtown NYC.
Il Buco is still one of the most special restaurants we’ve got in NYC, and we’d like to remind you of that.
Gato, Bobby Flay’s Mediterranean spot in Noho, isn’t quite as good as it was when it opened, but it’s still a useful option in certain situations.

Baby’s All Right
Baby’s is one of our favorite bars in Williamsburg. It’s a great option if you’re looking for live music, light snacks, or a bottomless brunch.
If it’s a weekend, and you need somewhere to dance in Bushwick, try Mad Tropical. It’s a divey bar with a tropical theme, a dance floor, and tacos.
