Tacombi is a mini chain of taco spots, and all the locations have the same pastel color scheme and backyard-party-near-a-beach atmosphere. This one in Fort Greene is on the smaller side, but it does have a great little patio off to the side, and it’s right across the street from BAM. So if you see something there, get a paloma and some tacos here afterwards. The tacos are great (even if they’re a little smaller than we’d like), and there are also other options like quesadillas and ceviche.

Miss Ada is a small, comfortable spot in Fort Greene with great Israeli food and an outdoor garden in the back.
Karasu is a Japanese speakeasy/izakaya you find by going through the back door of Walter’s in Fort Greene. Go for cocktails and fried chicken.

As we’re all well aware, Mexican food in Manhattan generally blows. Empellon hasn’t come to save the day, but it isn’t adding to the problem either. While nothing blew us away, the food was solid with the good outweighing the bad.
Otto’s Tacos is a casual East Village taco place with a simple menu, homemade tortillas, and much-needed West Coast flavor.
