Lucali’s New Slice Shop Is Open In Carroll Gardens

Baby Luc’s opened at 387 Court Street in Brooklyn.

On Friday, July 16th, Mark Iacono and the team behind Lucali opened a slice shop in Carroll Gardens called Baby Luc’s. According to their Instagram account, they began service with a 100-order limit of square slices and pies at 6pm, and, in turn, hour-plus wait times. Baby Luc’s reopens on Tuesday, July 20th at 5pm for a third night of service. Our unsurprising advice? Show up early.

We first heard word of Baby Luc’s in late May. A job posting for a back-of-house position described the project as “a neighborhood pizzeria serving slices, other menu items, and delicious things to drink.” Lucali has famously never sold pizza by the slice, and operates with a BYOB policy.

Baby’s Luc’s is associated with Act 2 Hospitality Group (who works with other restaurants like Lola Taverna in West Soho), and the Culinary Agents job posting categorizes it as a “quick service” restaurant with fewer than 10 employees.

The new slice shop at 387 Court Street (in the former Madcap Cafe space) is just two blocks from the original Lucali location on Henry Street. And considering eating at Lucali often requires lining up on the sidewalk at 4pm, the addition of Baby Luc’s might mean a fast track to their wood-fired, New York-style pizza with its signature light, blistered crust. Assuming the lines die down eventually.

We’ll continue to update this piece as we get more information on Baby Luc’s menu and hours.
