Yes, Sunny has subs, but you’re coming here for their tiny empanadas and lunch special. This spot in Doral is one of our favorite places to eat Venezuelan empanadas in Miami. The empanadas aren’t big, but they’re impossible to stop eating once you’ve taken a bite. Plus, you really can’t beat their lunch special. It runs from 11am-3pm and includes a main protein (beef, pork, chicken, or asado negro), two sides, soup, and a drink—all for about $13. We like to get ours with asado negro. The eye round meat is tender and drenched in a thick, dark sauce that’s a little sweet and tangy. You can get it with white rice and plantains, but there are plenty of other side options like ensalada rusa, yuca frita, and tostones. It’s one of the best lunch deals in Miami if you’re looking for a full meal under $15.
