Square Pie City
Included In
This Detroit-style pizza spot bounced around as a pop-up before finally getting the brick-and-mortar it deserves right across the street from the Design District. There, in a casual dining room, Square Pie is serving fluffy square slices with really good toppings and edges that have a satisfying crunch. Our favorite pie here is the veg supreme with chopped broccoli rabe, mushrooms, and roasted peppers.
But you should also know about the tavern-style pies they make here. You really have to order it for dine-in to appreciate the cracker-thin crust at its crunchiest. It's just $15 and the only great tavern-style pie we know of in Miami. There's good stuff on the menu beyond pizza too, like the smoked wings and the chopped salad. We also like how Square Pie isn't trying to be anything other than a casual pizzeria. Utensils are plastic, plates are paper, and the requisite shakers of parmesan and red pepper flakes rest on each table.
