Las Pavas
Included In
Las Pavas, like a lot of Central American restaurants in Miami, feels like you’re entering someone’s home. The walls are knockdown textured and decorated with ceramic birds and homey Salvadoran art. On a Tuesday afternoon, you’ll find this place filled with regulars having whole snapper and beer buckets as a TV plays reruns of Maury or some other dated reality show. Their concha negra, a clam ceviche with squid ink, is a refreshing appetizer and comes with saltine crackers that balance out the over-limed ceviche. But we come here for the pupusa loca, which could probably break the Guinness World Record for pupusa circumference (and is just delicious). Las Pavas also sells breads, cheeses, and cremas from El Salvador that you probably can’t find at Publix.
