7 Great Restaurants Open On Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

Last Christmas was a disaster. No one said thank you to mom, Tia Rosa’s new boyfriend called the ham dry, and grampa had too much coquito and started arguing with the cat. So this year, make everyone happy and go out instead. These are the places we really like that are offering special menus—mostly for Christmas Eve, but also for Christmas. Just remember the holiday spirit and be kind. The folks working are there to make you happy instead of spending time with their own dysfunctional families. And if you're also looking for something to do on New Year's Eve, check out our guide to Miami's least-chaotic New Year's Eve dinners.

The Least-Chaotic New Year’s Eve Dinners In Miami
THE SPOTS
Fox's is putting up some holiday decor this month, featuring Christmas lights, a Christmas tree, a menorah, and more. All the decorations will still be up for their three-course Christmas Eve dinner (which they're serving on December 23 and 24). For $65 per person, the menu includes spicy deviled eggs, glazed ham, au gratin potatoes, and a white chocolate coquito mouse.
In an ode to ordering Chinese on Christmas, Broken Shaker is doing a Christmas Day menu inspired by Chinese takeout classics. There will be dishes like krab rangoons, pork dumplings, shrimp shumai, mongolian beef, dan dan noodles, and more. The outdoor cocktail bar inside The Freehand will feature its special menu on Christmas Day, and you can make reservations online.
Cafe La Trova will be offering a family-style three-course menu for $95 per person ($30 for children 12 and under) on Noche Buena. There will be no a la carte option, so you've got to be cool with the three-course menu (which isn't available to preview yet). But there will be ample opportunities to consume delicious cocktails and dance because this is Cafe La Trova after all.
Cote’s doing a “Feast of Seven Steaks” for Christmas Eve, which is pretty much what it sounds like: a lot of excellent steak. For $225 per person, you’ll get a dinner that includes seven different cuts: filet mignon, skirt steak, lamb chop, dry-aged ribeye, wagyu, Japanese A5 ribeye, and galbi. If you can manage to lift a pair of chopsticks after that, there’ll be even more sides, ban chan, and soft serve.

La Mar’s Christmas Eve dinner costs $240 per person ($145 for those under 21). It’ll consist of family-style pork dishes and buffet stations featuring various anticucho options, seafood rice, fish, empanadas, and more. Plus, two hours of unlimited cocktails. You won’t leave here hungry, and you should try to sit outside because it’ll probably be gorgeous out.

Just like they did for Thanksgiving, Smoke & Dough has an extensive Christmas Eve takeout menu. It's full of very delicious smoked meat, pan de jamon, and four different coquito options. Check out the full menu on their Instagram and give them a call to place your order.
The Italian spot in Coral Gables will be celebrating Christmas with a feast of the seven dishes (not fishes) for $65 per person. It includes an antipasto platter, little gem lettuces, patate fritte, pasta al limone, short rib bolognese, tiramisu, and pistachio semifreddo. It’s a sharing-style menu, and the regular a la carte menu won’t be available, but your crazy uncle can rest assured that the full bar will be.
