Unless you’re a 9-to-5er in Culver City, there’s no reason to rush to Prima Donna. This Sicilian restaurant in the old Etta space kept its predecessor’s generic “modern American” look, with whitewashed brick, Edison bulbs, and a general sense of déjà vu. The menu has its share of predictable moments, too: a little gem salad, crispy brussel sprouts, and another spicy vodka pasta. The Apple employees letting loose with negronis at the bar are the ones getting the most out of this place.

While most things at Prima Donna are just fine, the pizzas are pretty respectable. The charred crust is on the thicker side and crackly rather than chewy. Split the cheesy White Lotus with fennel sausage and thinly sliced potatoes over a few spritzes, and you’ll have a perfectly good time.

Roberta’s has very good pizzas, but hasn’t realized that pizzas are the thing this Culver City spot should stick to.
