Moonlark’s Dinette
Out of all the restaurants that have previously occupied the ground floor of The Hoxton, Moonlark's Dinette is the best fit. This Midwest-inspired diner is an all-day spot in Downtown that’s open seven days a week, and somewhere you can slouch into a leather booth for pancakes and coffee. It’s also conveniently open until 10pm. The best time to go is during brunch, when Moonlark’s kitschy, old-school Americana is on full display and Downtown traffic zooms by while servers in pink uniforms top off your coffee.
The menu reads like an homage to chain restaurants of the past, with classics like a shrimp cocktail, monte cristo sandwiches, and chicken tortilla soup. Our favorites, however, are the chilaquiles that come in a tart salsa verde and the golden latkes with creme fraîche, lox, and a light cucumber relish. And if there’s room, order a single hot cake on the side—they’re light and fluffy.
