All you have to do is walk in and spot the butterflied mojarra grilling over a giant mesquite fire to get a clear idea of Don Lencho's specialty. At this classic South LA spot, everybody’s eating sweet, smoky fish on outdoor folding tables with little kids running around a big cement lot. It feels more like a neighborhood cookout than anything else. In addition to the very good fish, there’s a whole pupusa side of the menu as well. While we certainly condone ordering a few for the table if you’re with a group, they’re pretty oily and heavy. A few bites will be more than enough.
