Denae’s Diner
Denae’s has the nostalgic digs of a diner revival done right. You’ll spot swivel stools under a long lunch counter, a retro letterboard above a fully stocked bar, and brown leather booths spread around a wood-paneled room. But once the food starts to arrive, it just feels like you’re eating in the lobby restaurant of a DTLA hotel (which you are). Menu staples like egg breakfasts, pancakes, meatloaf, and pot pie just seem like they’re missing something, while the prices skew way higher than a greasy spoon. The real win here is that Denae’s stays open till midnight every single day, which puts it in a rare category of downtown restaurants. So drop by for a snack after a show at L.A. Live or a plate of tater tots after bar hopping.
