Volta Do Mar is a Portuguese restaurant near the Aldwych that might lack the kind of atmosphere that makes us want to treat it as a destination, but is otherwise a fine spot for sharing a few small plates like their grilled octopus and black eyed pea salad before heading to the theatre. Those small plates are generally lighter and fresher than the large portions of iberico pork vinhalho or the slightly unsatisfying piri piri chicken, but whatever you get, make sure it’s served with a portion of their excellent arroz verde.
