Singapulah
Included In
Singapulah isn’t perfect: the service is like an off-the-lead spaniel, friendly but chaotic, and some dishes are misses. But if you know what to order, this Singaporean spot is a solid bet for a central London meet-up and pre-show meals. All butterscotch yellow walls, mint-green tiles, and retro checkerboard floors, Singapulah on Shaftesbury Avenue is a pretty place to pop in for a decent plate of food. The menu changes to spotlight different suppliers—get the creamy laksa, the bouncy shui jing dumplings, and the wonton mee with cold-busting pork broth if it’s on, but skip the nasi lemak. For now, this joint venture between the Singapore Tourism Board and the people behind Rasa Sayang, is walk-in only. So if you arrive after 6pm, expect to join the crowd enviously peering in at families dunking luncheon meat fritters.
