These days, supermarkets aren’t always the ideal place to get your shopping. They’re busy, they’re stressful, and they’re almost definitely out of penne. Thankfully, plenty of restaurants and cafés across London have switched things up and become shops for excellent produce and other essential kitchen supplies. So whether you’re looking for restaurant-quality fruit and veg or a hunk of pastrami, this guide will help you shop locally and support restaurants while you’re at it.

Delivering Across London

Quality Chop House - QCH’s shop and butcher is very much open. If you’re around Farringdon, then head over between 9am-4pm or order for delivery online. There’s meat and wine, pre-made pies, and those famous confit potatoes.

Lina Stores King’s Cross - Lina Stores are now delivering everything from fruit and vegetable boxes and eggs, to fresh pasta and bread across London. You can order your groceries and meal kits here.

Crosstown Doughnuts & Coffee - OTT doughnut pros Crosstown have teamed up with Estate Dairy, Millers Bakery, and a local fruit and veg supplier to provide ‘essential’ boxes, including vegan variations. You can order from their website. Just don’t forget the doughnuts.

Natoora Counter - Natoora is probably London’s foremost restaurant supplier and you can get their high quality produce delivered to your home. Register online, download the app, and start ordering multiple types of radicchio.

Mac & Wild - The Scottish meat experts have moved to being an online butcher. You can order mixed boxes, game, and almost everything else directly through their website.

Love Shack - Love Shack is a vegan restaurant in Hackney that’s delivering isolation care packages filled with fruit, veg, and other essentials, like Oreos. They deliver all over east daily, but have specific days for other areas of London. Check here.

Persepolis - Peckham’s favourite Persian deli-cum-cornershop has made its dry goods, spices, and bags of rose petals available to order online. If you’re not sure what you want, go for one of the hampers.

Lumberjack - The cosy café is delivering freshly baked sourdough, eggs, and other essentials locally. They’re also making meals for NHS workers that you’re able to pay ahead for on their website.

Tram Store - The warehouse café is offering pick-up and delivery on fruit and veg boxes, eggs, meat, and other essentials. You can order from their online shop.

Hackney

Pavilion Bakery - Pavilion’s shops on Broadway Market and Columbia Road are open from 8am - 4pm everyday, and they’re selling their freshly baked sourdough, eggs, butter, and other home essentials. Click and collect via their website.

Highbury & Holloway

Top Cuvée - The Blackstock Road restaurant and wine bar has a new shop. Check their extensive stock here, where you can get everything from eggs to dry pappardelle, and custard creams.

Provisions - The Holloway Road wine bar is selling a load of artisanal essentials via their website. If you’re after cheese, charcuterie, and excellent tinned fish, then this is your place.

Westerns Laundry - The lovely small plates spot has a weekly ethical farmers market selling pastries, bread, and other fresh produce and pantry supplies. Check their Instagram for more details.

Islington

Latteria - The Italian café is delivering essentials until around 9pm daily. On top of prepared meals, they’ve got pasta, rice, jarred sauces and vegetables, oils, and more. Order from here or here if you’re in the area.

Frank’s Canteen - Frank’s is open from 7am - 2pm in the week, and until 5pm on Saturdays. It’s got baked stuff, a load of dry goods like pasta and coffee, as well as eggs, butter, and random fruit and veg. Check online for more details.

London Bridge

Tapas Brindisa - The Spanish mini-chain is open for online delivery. So if you’re in the mood for tapas they’ve got ham, cheese, tinned fish, frozen croquetas, as well as cupboard essentials. Check their website.

Marylebone

Daylesford Organic - Daylesford are delivering essentials from their Chelsea and Marylebone outposts. There are pantry staples, pasta sauces, eggs, and a whole load of booze.

Shoreditch

Albion & Boundary Rooftop - Albion and Boundary on Redchurch Street are now selling a load of useful British essentials via delivery app, like coffee, pastries, baked beans, sausage, booze, and crisps, plus lots more.

Sussex - The Gladwin Brothers has made it’s produce available for delivery. There’s a tonne of meat, fish, cheese, and vegetables, and some very enticing looking pies too. You browse and order via their website.

St John's Wood

Panzer’s - Though not technically a restaurant, you can sit in Panzer’s café area and enjoy a bagel on a regular day, so it’s worth knowing they deliver that and more. Head to their website to order vegetable hampers, fancy provisions, smoked salmon, and even sushi.

Stoke Newington

The Clarence Tavern - As well as delivering chicken pies and wine boxes, the gastropub is also delivering everyday essentials from fruit and veg, to eggs and milk. Order before 6pm for next day delivery.

Tower Bridge

40 Maltby Street - The excellent wine bar near London Bridge is selling fresh vegetables, eggs, pastry, meal for at home, and other essential items.

Darby’s - Irish spot Darby’s is running a deli-butcher-bakery hatch from its restaurant in Vauxhall. They’re open from 10am-4pm Wednesday to Saturday, selling meat, bread, cook at home meals, and other nicely sourced bits and bobs. Find out more via their Instagram.

Waterloo

Volcano Coffee - If you’re around SE1 or SE27 then Volcano Coffee will deliver breakfast bundles to your door. They range from £10 to £35 and can be ordered via DM.

Wapping

The Melusine - The seafood restaurant in St. Katherine Docks has a deli open from 10am - 5pm from Tuesday to Saturday. There’s bread, fresh produce and whatever’s been freshly caught that day. More details here.

Townsend - As well as doing recipe boxes and booze, Townsend is also delivering essential produce like fruit and veg, bacons, sausages and, er, asparagus via their website.
