The Breakfast Klub
Included In
If you've ever driven by The Breakfast Klub in Midtown, you’ve probably seen the line extending down the side of this counter-service spot serving Southern breakfast and lunch. While the wait to get inside is inevitable on the weekends, the food on the other side of the wait is worth it. Because at The Breakfast Klub, the eggs are fluffy, the katfish is krispy, and the hot syrup is on tap right next to the coffee. Staff members typically work the line like seasoned air traffic controllers to make sure everyone is up to speed on what they want to order and to redirect the occasional to-go order customer who found themselves in the dine-in line.
Once inside, you’ll find a seat in the cozy wooden dining room that looks like the sort of spot where poetry slams are held. Everything inside feels mellow, and even when it’s buzzing with people, there’s still a calmness that radiates over the entire place. The food comes out astonishingly fast, so you’ll spend most of your time carving into hearty pork chops and spooning cheesy grits, while making the occasional stop for a coffee or syrup refill. But just because the food comes flying out of the kitchen, it doesn’t mean that any compromises get made. The food here is comforting and hearty, which is why you’ll see families out on a Sunday brunch, couples on breakfast dates, and solo diners having a waffles and wings moment.
