Fung's Kitchen
Included In
Family owned and operated since the mid ‘90s, Fung’s Kitchen in Sharpstown offers the best dim sum cart service in town, along with tanks of live seafood, and Cantonese family-style classics. The sprawling, banquet-hall-size dining room holds hundreds with enough extra space for giant seafood tanks and roving weekend dim sum carts that expertly maneuver around Chinese dragon dancers during New Years’ celebrations. Go there for Hong Kong-style lobster and Dungeness crab, or neverending stainless steel steamer trays of dumplings, savory BBQ pork steamed buns, rich and pillowy egg cake, and sweet custard lava buns.
Despite Fung’s size, the service never falters. Every staff member seems overjoyed to fill your table with more and more food, to the point you begin accepting additional plates of crispy shrimp croquettes and beef-stuffed rice noodles as to not disappoint whoever offered them to you. Everything tastes excellent, so what’s the point in saying no? Fung’s makes a great massive group dinner for a special occasion or just a random weekend brunch, whether you’re craving seafood, dumplings, or piles of steamed gai lan broccoli.
