“And then there’s the lasagne, which makes you want to grab your server’s collar, pull them dangerously close, and ask “what sorcery is this?!” because of how f*cking delicious it is.”
That passionate and slightly violent line is pulled from our review of The Pink Door, the Pike Place staple that serves excellent Italian food paired with the occasional indoor trapeze performance.
So you can imagine our excitement after hearing that, after being closed for months, The Pink Door is back open for takeout only, serving $30 three-course dinners available for pickup from 4-8pm from Wednesday to Sunday.
There are just a few dishes to choose from, but you better believe the incredible spinach lasagne is one of them. With layers of green-tinted pasta, rich bechamel, marinara, and pesto, it’s like the twenty mattresses from The Princess And The Pea - only the entire thing is edible.
Other options vary by day but include things like braised short ribs with polenta or risotto with morels and nipitella. Plus, any entree you choose comes with a salad and pistachio olive oil cake.
You can place your order online or even show up in person at a moment’s notice. So if you’re trying to have a living room takeout date with, say, a royal heir you’re betrothed to, it doesn’t get much better than The Pink Door.

If you don’t like surprises, those two dishes repeat on their menu pretty often, so check their Instagram to see what’s available. The pastas usually are around $20, and you can also add on a bottle of wine or a negroni to go.

Have you finished drying your tears after hearing about Il Corvo’s permanent closure? It’s going to be OK. Il Nido, their newer sister spot on Alki Beach, is still here. They’re operating as a market, selling fresh, uncooked pasta and sauces a la carte for you to cook at home. Stop by to grab some cresti de gallo, pesto, and a loaf of focaccia - it’s almost like you can recreate a meal from Il Corvo in your kitchen. Just make sure to cue up an endless loop of crowded restaurant ambience to complete the experience.
Haymaker East (formerly known as Le Messe) is a restaurant in Eastlake that serves everything from crudo to Nashville hot chicken sandwiches - but you’re really here to pick up some excellent pasta. Their rigatoni with tomato and guanciale is incredible, but you’re also in good hands with anything that involves agnolotti and/or braised pork.
