Indoor Service Banned At Chicago Bars
Starting Friday, July 24, indoor service at bars will be banned.
Written by

In a news release published by the administration, it was announced that starting Friday, Chicago will no longer allow indoor service at bars. Also, restaurants, breweries, and bars will only be allowed to have a maximum of six people per table.

This isn’t much of a surprise. Since June 26 (the start of Phase 4 and reopening of indoor dining and drinking), Lightfoot has been outspoken about her concern regarding the safety of bars. And last weekend, The Owl, a bar in the West Loop, was forced to close for not adhering to social distancing and capacity rules. But, for now, you can still drink outside, and at least to-go cocktails are finally legal.
