The center of the “Chicago Colombian restaurants” and “deep dish” Venn diagram is pretty empty. That is, with the exception of Pizza Y Pan Pa Ya. This small Albany Park spot has a wide array of Colombian baked goods, from buñuelos to alfajores, as well as cheesy arepas and empanadas. But they also have deep dish, and it’s pretty good—the sauce has a nice mix of tangy and sweet with a light airy crust. Things can get a little soupy, though so don’t overload with too many toppings.
