GG’s Chicken Shop

GG’s Chicken Shop is a counter-service spot in Lakeview from the same group as Alla Vita, Girl & The Goat, and Le Select. Unsurprisingly, it specializes in different types of chicken: rotisserie, fried, salad, tenders, sandwiches, and burgers. While the rotisserie chicken is juicy (if a little skimpy), the overly breaded, slightly dry fried chicken sandwich is a little boring. It does get some help in the flavor department from toppings like a slaw, bread and butter pickles, and too much spicy mayo—which makes for a messy experience. You can dine in, but GG’s focuses on takeout, so you can eat your perfectly fine chicken sandwich with sauce dripping down your face in the comfort of your own home.
