Amaru is a fun Latin American restaurant in Wicker Park that has great food with complex flavors. We’re big fans of the chicken skewers served in a spicy huancaina, the tender roasted octopus in poblano sauce, and the yuca gnocchi with rabbit bolognese. It’s a great neighborhood spot for grabbing dinner during the week, or for a reasonably priced date night when you want to have an affordable dinner with some drinks.

There’s no denying Big Star is an anchor tenant of the Wicker Park dining scene, but that doesn’t mean everyone feels the same way about it.
