ATXReview
Sway easily has one of the prettiest dining rooms of the Thai restaurants in the Austin area. Giant, woven lanterns hang over large communal tables in a dark dining room that looks like a minimalist wooden cabin designed by a Scandinavian architect. And there’s a rooftop patio where you can look out over the city while you sip on housemade drinking vinegars, cocktails, and sake. Most of the dishes here are a little tamer and less punchy than we expect for Thai food, but they get the job done satisfactorily (and expensively). Just don’t expect a lot of spice or bold flavors out of typically watery eye-inducing dishes like som tam or tiger cry steak. But if you want a date night destination where you can get a little dressed up and enjoy some raw oysters with nahm jim, head to Sway.
