Prefecture Japanese Steakhouse
Included In
Omakase restaurants are having a serious moment in Atlanta right now (we’re talking Mujō, Omakase Table, Hayawaka, etc.). And Prefecture in Buckhead hops on that train with Japanese wagyu beef courses along with the more traditional fresh cuts of fish. A tasting menu provides a sampling of all their best dishes, including lobster rice, a cheesy wagyu slider, and three other steak dishes. The “I’ll leave it up to you” doesn’t work quite as well for steak—we wish we would’ve been able to select the temps ourselves. But the quality and tastiness of every dish earns a solid A (or should we say A5). The sleek interior has minimalist decor aside from hanging lights that look like fireworks frozen in midair above the tables. Electronica tunes coming from the speakers further reinforce that this isn’t your grandparents' steakhouse.
