On the border of Inman Park and Virginia-Highlands, JavaVino is a North Highland staple and will caffeinate you by day and pour you a glass of wine at night. They have their own coffee farm in Nicaragua and roast the beans in Decatur so if you’re someone who likes to pretend that you can smell the difference between beans, you’ll enjoy it here. This place is small and quiet, so we wouldn’t bring a first date unless you want an opportunity to test how good you are at sitting in awkward silence. It’s more of a third or fifth date spot - when you’ve gotten to the point where you actually care about the details of your date’s personal origin story.

Go to Beetlecat in Inman Park to sit on a patio and eat great seafood, or to drink in a basement bar that looks straight out of That ’70s Show.
