This upscale Mexican restaurant sits across from the Ritz-Carlton in the giant 191 Peachtree Tower building. The red-hued, dark wood-toned dining room contains a mix of tourists and business travelers in town for conventions. But since it’s a cherished OG, locals also swing by for Happy Hour margaritas and their famous fruit- and spice-infused ice cubes drowned in tequila. And while the drinks are our favorite reason to come, the small plates are a good reason to stay awhile longer. Get the fried chihuahua cheese, which is served in a showy cauldron bubbling with salsa verde. And if after a few drinks you start to notice the stuffed longhorn on the wall mooing at you, just stay put and get an order of the tasty pork cochinita “pibil,” which is so tender it’ll render your knife useless.
