Wei
Unlike its Williamsburg counterpart, Wei’s Clinton Hill location is not open until 2am, so you can’t drink a cocktail that you definitely didn’t need or inhale mapo tofu at midnight here. You can, however, pick up takeout chicken and broccoli, and spicy peanut wontons for lunch or dinner, or sit in the small, red-lit dining room and have a casual weeknight date with someone who knows your exact order better than they know their own. It’s got all your standard American Chinese hits—sesame chicken, wonton soup—but also handpulled lo mein, and a spicy chicken dish layered with hot green peppers that makes regular weeknights just slightly more exciting.
